Douro, the region of Port Wine, in north of Portugal, is searching for creatives in the fields of audio-visual, design and fine arts to show this magnificent territory, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage. The applications may be submitted until October 10th. Join and share.
In the creative issue, Douro Entrepreneur Award allow Portuguese and foreign candidates and the works can be presented in video or poster. It is intended a different and original look about Douro as experience, land of people and places, knowledge and traditions.
The goal is to distinguish works that value and affirm the landscape, architectural and cultural richness of the region, as well as local products and traditions, and to promote greater awareness of the Alto Douro Wine Region – World Heritage and Trás-os-Montes.
Each winner will receive financial incentive in the amount of four thousand euros and the award is decided by online voting, among the selected works. The jury will distinguish the best work in each of the two categories. João Machado, sculptor and graphic designer, and João Botelho, filmmaker, respected names of the culture in Portugal, are part of the pre-selection team. Each finalist of each category will participate in a traveling exhibition, to be held in 2015, in Museums and cultural spaces of Douro and beyond the region.
Douro Entrepreneur Award, whose first edition surprised, with more than 60 applications, is launched by Douro entrepreneurs network, coordinated by the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and CCDR-Norte.
