Salmanazar, the export collective taking premium, organic New Zealand wine to Europe and North America, is excited to present a selection of top orange wines coming out of New Zealand at the Orange Wine Festival in Izola, Slovenia on Friday 24 April 2015.
Gabrielle Simmers, founder of Salmanazar, will be presenting a selection of skin-fermented, or orange wines, at the fair including Green Glow (Sauvignon Blanc) and Spook Light (Pinot Gris) from Supernatural Wine Co and Pyramid Valley Vineyards Growers’ Collection Pinot Blanc/Pinot Gris/Gewürztraminer.
Gabrielle notes: ‘The fair coincides with International Sauvignon Blanc Day – not that we need an excuse to showcase the unique Green Glow. More producers in New Zealand are experimenting with skin-fermentation of white grapes each year and we are privileged to be showing one of New Zealand’s first orange wines in one of its traditional homes, Slovenia.’
Over 80 wineries from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria, Serbia and New Zealand will be present at the fair, the biggest and one of the only in the world dedicated to orange wine.
Salmanazar is presenting these wines:

Pyramid Valley Vineyards – Growers’ Collection Pinot Blanc/Pinot Gris/Gewürztraminer 2014
