Already a month ago, I visited vineyards and winemakers on the Etna, Sicily. Volcano, people, landscape and wines have made an enormous impression on me. I have tried to capture my experiences in several blog posts and photo albums now. I wrote a post on the diversity of winemakers and wine styles, and another article around that theme is in the making (for print or blog is not sure yet).
Today I present a portrait gallery of some of the winemakers we met. I want to thank every one of them, also the ones not in this photo gallery, for among others their great hospitality, their patience to explain to us the difficulties and joys of making wine on the Etna, their lavish lunches and dinners and their intriguing and wonderful wines.
You will find the gallery here, on Flickr.
And of course also a big thank you to Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini dell’Etna DOC, in the persons of Giuseppe Mannino and Valeria Carastro, for inviting us and showing us their world; to Fermenti Digitali (Giampiero Nadali and Elisabetta Tosi) for the perfect arrangements and organisation and to my fellow bloggers for their fantastic company.
